Audience (2010)
Networked Installation from the default to public series
Audience follows the default to public principle of confronting the users of social software platforms on the internet with the fact that their data is visible everywhere.
Audience focuses on images uploaded on flickr.com, a service to share photos with friends and family.
Audience aggregates personal photos licenced under a creative commons license and displays them randomly on a screen. If a viewer approaches, a face detection recognizes his or her presence, takes a photo, blurs it and uploads it to its own account, after that sets a comment at the original photo, informing the owner that some stranger just viewed it. instead of just an abstract view counter, the user is confronted with a real and unknown audience.
